Originally hailing from Abilene, TX, guitarist Chuck Allred earned his B.M. in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of North Texas and his M.M. & P.D. in Classical Guitar Performance from Southern Methodist University. A two-time recipient of the Meadows Artistic Scholarship Award, Chuck was the Senior Teaching Fellow in Classical Guitar under Professor Robert Guthrie during the entirety of his four years at SMU. In 2017, Chuck made his professional debut by performing the historic Concierto de Aranjuez with the Flower Mound Symphony Orchestra. He returned with the FSO the following year to perform the Malcolm Arnold Guitar Concerto as well as a guitar transcription of the Alessandro Marcello Oboe Concerto. Chuck is also a returning soloist with the Meadows Wind Ensemble under Maestro Jack Delaney. Past performances include works by Igor Stravinsky and Toru Takemitsu.
Chuck is the managing member of Chuck Allred Guitar Arts LLC, through which he performs and teaches guitar lessons. Aside from teaching and maintaining a historical repertoire that covers four and a half centuries of music, Chuck is also an active composer and arranger. His compositions are over 300 in number and cover numerous musical genres. Chuck enjoys arranging music for the classical guitar from a wide variety of sources including classical repertoire, rock & heavy metal bands, popular television shows, and video games. In 2021 he signed an arrangement publication deal with Musicnotes.com, the world’s largest digital sheet music distributor. Chuck also runs a Youtube channel with over 44,000 subscribers. Content includes performances, instructional videos, and a series that analyzes the technical movements of great guitarists.
